The Heat Pump Installation Process, Step by Step

    5 min read

Step 1, the survey. We visit your home, measure every room, look at your insulation, windows and existing heating, and talk through how you use your heating and hot water. This is the basis for everything that follows.

Step 2, the design. We work out the heat loss of each room and the whole house, size the heat pump, check each radiator at the lower water temperature a heat pump runs at, and size the hot water cylinder. You get a clear, itemised quote with the design behind it.

Step 3, the grant. If you're eligible for the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant, we apply for it on your behalf. The grant is taken off your invoice, so you never have to claim it back yourself.

Step 4, installation. Most installations take three to five days. We fit the outdoor unit on a solid base, install the hot water cylinder, upgrade any radiators that need it, run the pipework and wiring, and remove your old boiler. We keep disruption to a minimum and leave the house tidy each day.

Step 5, commissioning and handover. We fill and balance the system, set the controls and flow temperatures, and show you how everything works. You receive your MCS certificate and the paperwork for your warranties.

Step 6, aftercare. We're on hand if you have questions, and we recommend an annual service to keep the system running efficiently. Book your free survey to get started.
