Commercial Air Conditioning Installation
Climate control designed for businesses, not scaled-up domestic kits. Whether you need to cool a 20-storey office tower, keep a hotel chain comfortable, or manage heat loads in a busy restaurant kitchen, we design, install, and maintain commercial air conditioning systems that actually perform.
What is commercial air conditioning?
Commercial air conditioning covers the heating, cooling, and ventilation systems used in non-domestic buildings. The principles are the same as residential units, refrigerant absorbs heat indoors and releases it outside, but the scale, complexity, and control requirements are in a different league entirely.
A typical commercial system might use VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) technology to connect a single outdoor unit to 30 or more indoor units spread across multiple floors. Each zone can be set to a different temperature, and some zones can be heating while others are cooling, all from the same system. That's something no domestic setup can do.
These systems integrate with Building Management Systems (BMS), operate on scheduled timers, and can be monitored remotely so your facilities team can see exactly what's happening across every floor without leaving their desk.
Why businesses choose us
Heating & Cooling in One
Commercial VRF and VRV systems deliver precise temperature control across entire buildings, switching between heating and cooling zone by zone.
Slash Energy Overheads
Inverter-driven commercial units adjust output to match demand in real time, cutting energy waste and shrinking your utility bills by up to 40%.
Virtually Silent Operation
Modern commercial systems run below 40 dB indoors. Meeting rooms, hotel suites, and open-plan offices stay comfortable without the background drone.
Zero Disruption Install
We phase every commercial fit around your trading hours. Your business keeps running while we work, and we clean up before your team arrives each morning.
Types of commercial system
VRF / VRV Systems
Variable Refrigerant Flow technology connects one outdoor unit to dozens of indoor units across multiple floors. Individual zone control, simultaneous heating and cooling, and exceptional energy efficiency for medium-to-large buildings.
Ducted Systems
Completely hidden inside ceiling voids or risers, ducted units deliver conditioned air through grilles. Ideal for offices, retail, and hospitality where aesthetics matter and you want the system out of sight.
Cassette & Wall Units
Ceiling cassettes sit flush in suspended ceilings and distribute air in four directions. Wall-mounted units work well in server rooms, smaller offices, or areas where ductwork isn't practical.
Our commercial process
Site survey and cooling load calculation, we measure the building, assess heat gains from glazing, occupancy, and equipment, then size the system accurately.
System design and quotation, a detailed specification with equipment schedules, layout drawings, projected running costs, and a fixed price.
Planning and compliance, we handle F-Gas documentation, Part L compliance, and any planning submissions required for external plant.
Phased installation, fitted around your business operations. Weekend and out-of-hours work available so there's no disruption to your team or customers.
Commissioning and BMS integration, every zone tested and balanced, controls configured, and your facilities team trained on the system.
Ongoing maintenance, planned preventative maintenance contracts to keep everything running efficiently and protect your warranty.
Sectors we serve
Offices & Co-Working
Zoned climate control that keeps every floor comfortable without arguments over the thermostat. We design around open-plan layouts, meeting rooms, and server areas.
Hotels & Hospitality
Guest room comfort is non-negotiable. We install whisper-quiet systems with individual room control, integrated with your BMS for centralised management.
Retail & Showrooms
Large glazed frontages and high foot traffic create serious cooling loads. Our systems handle the heat gains while keeping energy costs manageable.
Restaurants & Kitchens
Commercial kitchens generate enormous heat. We design extraction-balanced systems that keep front-of-house cool while managing back-of-house temperatures.

Common questions
How much does commercial air conditioning cost?
It varies hugely depending on the building size, system type, and complexity. A small office with a couple of wall units might be £3,000-£6,000. A full VRF system for a multi-storey building could run to £100,000+. We provide fixed-price quotes after the site survey so you know exactly where you stand.
How long does a commercial installation take?
A simple office setup might take 2-3 days. Larger projects with VRF systems, ductwork, and BMS integration typically run 2-6 weeks depending on the building. We always agree a programme before starting and stick to it.
Do I need planning permission for commercial AC?
External condensing units may need planning approval depending on your location and building type, particularly in conservation areas or on listed buildings. We handle the planning submissions as part of our service.
What maintenance does a commercial system need?
Regular filter cleaning, refrigerant checks, and electrical inspections. We offer planned preventative maintenance contracts that cover everything and keep your system running at peak efficiency. It's also a legal requirement under F-Gas regulations to have systems checked annually.
