Domestic Air Conditioning Installation
Looking for professional domestic air conditioning installation? This page covers the different system types, how they work, what to expect from the installation process, and how a single system can provide both heating and cooling for your home, all managed by one experienced team.
What Is Air Conditioning?
At its core, air conditioning is a system that controls the temperature, humidity, and air quality within your home. Modern units do far more than provide cooling; they also offer heating functionality (operating as a compact heat pump), dehumidification, and air filtration to remove dust and allergens.
Today's units are compact and remarkably quiet. Whether you need to regulate the temperature of a single bedroom or manage the climate across your entire property, there is a domestic air conditioning solution designed to meet your requirements.
Advantages of Air Conditioning
Heating and Cooling Combined
A single system handles both requirements. Cool your home in summer and heat it in winter, eliminating the need for separate installations.
Up to A+++ Energy Rating
Modern inverter compressors adjust output in real time, ensuring energy is used efficiently and nothing is wasted.
Exceptionally Quiet Operation
Outdoor units operate at approximately 36 dB, quieter than a typical library. Indoor comfort without background noise.
Room-by-Room Climate Control
Set individual temperatures for each room via app, thermostat, or remote control. Precise comfort throughout your home.
How Air Conditioning Works
The system operates on the same principle as a refrigerator, scaled for residential use. Heat is transferred from inside your home to the outdoor environment. In heating mode, the process reverses, drawing warmth from the outdoor air and distributing it inside.
The indoor unit draws warm air from the room over a coil containing cold refrigerant.
The refrigerant absorbs thermal energy from the air, and the cooled air is recirculated into the room.
A compressor in the outdoor unit pressurises the warm refrigerant, raising its temperature significantly.
The condenser releases the accumulated heat into the outdoor air.
An expansion valve cools the refrigerant, and the cycle continues.
In heating mode, the process reverses, extracting warmth from outdoor air and directing it inside.
Types of System
Single Split
One outdoor unit paired with one indoor unit, ideal for conditioning a single room. The most straightforward and cost-effective option.
Multi-Split
A single outdoor unit connected to multiple indoor units across different rooms. Provides whole-house coverage without multiple external units.
Ducted Systems
Concealed within ceilings or walls for a completely unobtrusive installation. Popular in new builds and larger renovations where aesthetics are a priority.
